On May 15, Jia Hongyu, deputy minister of the Propaganda Department of Henan Provincial Party Committee and a first-level inspector, came to the school to investigate and publish. The symposium was held in the Minlun Campus auditorium. Yang Yibo, Deputy Party Secretary of Henan University, Zhang Ligang, Vice President of Henan University, Qiao Shihao, Party Secretary of Henan University School of Journalism and Communication, Wang Pengfei, Dean of Henan University School of Journalism and Communication, Yang Guanghui, Party Secretary of Henan University Press, Xie Qingxi, President of Henan University Press, Kong Linggang, editor in chief, and representatives of teachers and students from the publishing house and School of Journalism and Communication attended the discussion. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Ligang.

Yang Yiyang delivered a speech on behalf of the school. He introduced the basic situation of the school, and in recent years, the school has strengthened the construction of publishing disciplines, strengthened the professional education of publishing, and vigorously cultivated "class talents" and composite talents. He stressed that first, we should continue to give full play to the comprehensive advantages of publishing discipline construction and talent training, and profound discipline accumulation, accelerate the construction and improvement of the discipline system with Heda style and Central Plains characteristics, closely combine national strategies and industry needs, and promote the integration of production, learning and research. Second, we should implement the training plan of "famous editors" well, take editors with accurate vision of selecting topics, strong content control ability, high academic level, and influential in the industry as the key objects, and strive to train famous editors, do a good job in publishing in the new era, and actively contribute to the overall situation of publicity work in the province.

Wang Pengfei reported in detail the construction and development of the publishing discipline of our university in the past 40 years to the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee. He pointed out that emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and financial media publishing have become new growth points of the discipline, and look forward to promoting the discipline to enter a new stage of rapid development with the support of the provincial Party Committee Publicity Department and the school. Xie Qingxi and Kong Linggang respectively made special reports on the development of the publishing house and the training program of "famous editors".

Jia Hongyu fully affirmed the achievements of Henan University in book publishing, publishing discipline construction, and training of "famous editors". He pointed out that, first, we must deeply grasp the situation and tasks, further enhance the sense of urgency and mission of publishing work in the new era, and strive to publish more fine masterpieces with ideological depth, theoretical thickness, emotional temperature, knowledge breadth, and artistic height. Second, we should focus on key work, plan from a high starting point, and steadily promote the co-construction of publishing disciplines and the training of "famous editors", expand deep cultivation around publishing history, publishing theory, publishing practice, publishing management, digital publishing, reading culture and other urgently needed directions, and promote publishing work to better serve the overall situation with the co-construction of publishing disciplines and the training of "famous editors" as the starting point. Third, we should focus on long-term development, take the initiative to fulfill the mission and task of publishing, more consciously carry the main responsibility, the heavy responsibility of reform and development, and build up the spirit of practical responsibility, so as to create a publishing and editing team with strong politics, high skills, seeking truth and innovation, and can win battles, so as to make greater contributions to the development of Henan's cultural undertakings and social progress.

After the research symposium, Jia Hongyu and his delegation visited the national experimental teaching Demonstration Center of journalism and communication of our school and the honor room and version room of the publishing house.
