On the afternoon of January 2nd, the first lecture of Mingde Xinchuan Lecture in 2024 was held in the East Lecture Hall on the first floor of our college. Yin Yungong, a member of the National Philosophy and Social Science Expert Advisory Committee, convener of the News and Communication Discipline Evaluation Group of the National Social Science Fund, and specially appointed professor of "Xiaoxiang Scholars" at Hunan Normal University, presented an academic feast to the students of our college with the topic of "Several Issues on the Research and Teaching of Marxist Journalism". The lecture hall was fully booked, with some teachers, graduate students, and undergraduate students from various majors attending to listen. The lecture is hosted by Dean Wang Pengfei.
Professor Yin Yungong led his classmates to search for the truth and changes of Marxist news views from the big history. From the French Revolution to the Liberation War, seemingly unrelated stories are inevitable factors that contribute to the formation of Marxist news views. Yin Yungong's lectures enable students to more effectively feel the news views hidden behind this grand historical view.
During the lecture, Yin Yungong frequently asked his classmates: How should we adhere to historical materialism and approach problems with dialectical materialism? How to understand artificial intelligence? In the Internet era, how should we speak well about Marxist journalism? Yin Yungong stated that with the continuous advancement of the times, the old problems have not been completely solved, while new problems have emerged constantly. We have both the advantages of standing at the forefront and the disadvantages of uncertain research objects. We need to constantly think about how to follow the online crowdsourcing route in the new era and explore how to promote the Marxist news concept in the new era.
The lecture was successfully concluded with warm applause from the attending teachers and students. Yin Yungong, with his rich knowledge and academic accumulation, profoundly and vividly explained the rich connotations of Marxist journalism to everyone. At the same time, he also provided ideas and valuable guidance for the future research directions of our faculty and students.
